Can I get an ECG via the NHS?
Screening for conditions causing sudden cardiac death is not offered on the National Health Service if an individual does not have any symptoms or a family history of heart disease.

What is sudden cardiac death?
Sudden cardiac death can be simply defined as a sudden death from a cardiac problem within 12 hours of witnessed normal health.

Are Check My Heart employees qualified?
All Check My Heart employees undertake a nationally recognised Society for Cardiological Science & Technology diploma in ECG interpretation and recording – the same course NHS staff complete.

Will a doctor carry out my screening?
No, but a fully qualified technician will. We also consult with NHS/private doctors, so you can be assured you are in safe hands.

How can I book a screening?
We currently operate by private events only, hosted by universities, business and charities. However, we soon hope to host events open to all. If your organisation is hosting event, contact them to receive a booking link.

Why do I need an ECG test?
Even with no symptoms, there’s a chance you could have an underlying heart condition. ECG tests are crucial to stopping preventable heart-related issues and deaths. Get tested today and avoid problems further down the line.

Do ECG tests identify all people at risk?
The ECG screening programme will not identify all conditions that cause sudden cardiac death. There are conditions such as anomalous coronary arteries and premature coronary artery disease that will be missed by our screening programme. However, most conditions will be picked up.
